At Conyers Endodontic Center of Conyers, Georgia, our endodontists often see patients referred to the office due to toothaches. But what causes these to occur, and what can be done about it?
There are many reasons why a patient might experience tooth pain. Some of the most common causes include:
The treatment for a patient’s toothache will depend on the underlying cause of the pain. For example, if it is due to a cavity, a filling may be recommended by your primary dentist. In some situations, root canal therapy from our endodontic team might be the best treatment option. If the pain is caused by periodontal disease, treatment might involve deep cleaning procedures such as scaling and root planing or the application of antibiotics.
In cases of tooth abscess, the infected area may need to be drained and a course of antibiotics prescribed. For cracked or broken teeth, dental procedures such as bonding or crowns may be necessary to repair the damage.
If you are experiencing a toothache or pain that cannot be addressed by your general dentist, you may get a referral to our office for endodontic therapy.
We are located at 1920 Highway 20 SE, Suite A, and can be reached by telephone to request an appointment and evaluation at (470) 486-6025.
